What does CANA do?

• Preserves, improves, and develops the neighborhood and the community

• Helps residents make new friends and get to know their neighbors

• Promotes a people helping people atmosphere

• Advocates for solutions to neighborhood challenges such as traffic, blight and code violations

• Organizes neighborhood cleanups and common area upkeep

• Sends out an e-Newsletter to announce activities and events

• Maintains a website as a resource for all residents and details how they can help keep our neighborhood safe

• Plans activities/meetings to build a sense of community and provide opportunities for neighbors to meet each other 

• Coordinates with the Modesto Crime Prevention Unit on programs such as Neighborhood Watch and National Night Out

• Works with MPD and outside contractor to provide neighborhood policing and security patrol

• Develops and maintains relationships with City Council representatives, city staff, and non-profit agencies
